WorkSafe’s Forklift Safety Roadshow Coming Soon.

WorkSafe are currently taking registrations for their nationwide roadshow on Forklift Safety.

This is a good opportunity for you to ensure that you have all your bases covered. Be safety conscious and learn about the ways we are preventing workplace harm. The event will have live demonstrations and workshops so that you can see the best safety measures on the market in action.

We proudly support the great team at WorkSafe for all that they do and hope that you will read a bit in to their recent efforts to stand between you and harm.

WorkSafe have valuable resources on best codes of on-site conduct and are currently putting together their “Managing Worksite Traffic: Good Practice Guidelines” ahead of the roadshow. To view more WorkSafe resources, go here.

The roadshow will be taking place at the following locations and dates:

  • February 3 – Trinity Wharf, Tauranga
  • February 11 – Forum North, Whangarei
  • February 17 – Aotea Centre, Auckland Central
  • February 18 – Vodafone Events Centre, Auckland South
  • February 25 – Novotel Hotel, Hamilton
  • March 2 – Napier Conference Centre, Napier
  • March 9 – Distinction, Palmerston North
  • March 17 – James Cook Hotel, Wellington
  • March 23 – Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square
  • March 24 – Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square
  • March 30 – Distinction, Dunedin

Daily breakdown:

Workshop 1: For forklift operators, site workers and site visitors/contractors. This workshop focuses on practical aspects of risk identification and risk management.
Workshop 2: For PCBUs, managers, and health and safety reps. This workshop focuses on legislation, duties under HSWA and what is reasonably practicable from a hierarchy of controls approach.

Events are free to attend and businesses will gain most from this roadshow if you have a representative in both workshops. Each workshop session includes a presentation, demonstration and either morning or afternoon tea.

Demonstrations: For all attendees there will be demonstrations of four proximity warning devices from SonaSafe, RearSence, Hit Not and SEEN Safety.
